About The Artwork
This painting was created on a canvas, coated in texture paste for a grunge surface, topped with layers of oil paints and varnishes. The idea behind this painting was very personal as it represents a woman, sorrowful and full of agony. From times when one feels trapped in dark emotions, i intuitively painted this face from imaginations (no reference used at all) and used blotches of colors on her face to tell a story of art being a part of her even if things seem gloomy and dark. I hope the viewers feel drawn to her when looking at her and wonder what the painting is trying to tell them. As I believe, the message we receive by looking at an art piece is always subjective.
