About The Artwork

In the Sixties and Seventies the "HB Maennchen" - this Cartoon Character was used in Advertisements. The Slogan was "Wer wird denn gleich in die Luft gehen - greife lieber zu HB" - (Don't get stressed / angry - have a smoke and calm down.) This painting is inspired by Morton Clark paintings and is my first version of Cartoon renderings I remember from my childhood. Hand painted original on thick cardboard. Should be framed. Signed in the back and tagged "DE" in the front. Please Note - all artworks are sprayed with museum quality archival fixative and are sent with a hand written thank you note and certificate of authenticity.

"Art has been my passion all my life - abstract art with a twist is how I like to express myself. Painting for me is meditation through repetition. Form is everything - until you step back and see my paintings from further away..." Art Idols are Yayoi Kusama, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, Damien Hirst, Roy Liechtenstein and Wayne Thiebaud. Quoting Paul Klee: "A line is a dot that went for a walk"... Works in public and private collections , among others in USA, South Africa, Singapore, Canada, Australia, India, United Kingdom, France and more
