White on White No.2 2015 mini-series Original minimalistic abstract acrylic painting titled White on White No.2 07 Size: 7,87" W x 78,7" H x 0.78" (20 W x 20 H x 2 cm) Mini-series: WHITE ON WHITE NO.2 2015 Signed on the back. Varnished with a thin layer for protection against dust and UV. Edges painted white, no frame required. Gallery wrapped canvas (linen). Ready to hang. INSPIRATIONS: This painting is part of the minimalistic series titled White on White No.2. The series is inspired by one of my favorite artworks by abstractionist Kazimir Malevich and is a study of white color and its different shades in the small format. It is also the reflection on the need to calm down and cut off from the multitude of events, images, and data that reach us every day. Not every moment has to be productive – we can silence our thoughts, stay in a soothing emptiness, be alone with ourselves and look inside our hearts and minds. TECHNIQUE: The series is painted on the linen canvas with colors mixed with glossy and matte mediums, metallic paints, sand, and mica. Each painting has several layers of paint, sand and structural pastes superimposed on each other. REAL COLOR: All paintings from this series are painted in the warm shade of white with a hint of beiges, silver, and platinum. The shades changes with movement and light. Painted by Sylwia Zolkiewska (certificate of authenticity attached).

Painter & New Media Artist based in Warsaw, Poland. Laureate of 2nd Triennial of Polish Contemporary Painting AUTUMN CONFRONTATIONS (2010). Hello! My name is Sylwia Zolkiewska. I am a visual artist, working across various mediums, mainly painting and digital media (graphics, NFTs) I received an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland in 2007, and studied Media Arts at Turku University of Applied Sciences in Finland for a while. Since then, I have mainly painted, creating digital graphics and multimedia. In art I enjoy crossing the boundaries of disciplines, experimenting with new technologies, and constantly searching for new means of expression. THEMES AND INSPIRATIONS My artworks often explore human interaction with the digital world and digitality itself in an abstract way. They concern the passage of time, memories, emotions, identity, and a state of constant change in a tech-centric world. CREATIVE PROCESS My creation process is based on my inner thoughts, reflection, and emotions and on quantitative & qualitative research I conduct on a digital image. These findings are a constant source of inspiration for me, providing me ideas both about form & shape and topics for my artworks. HOW DO MY PAINTINGS LOOK? I also love experimenting with painting, creating movement and depth within 2d creation. So I use colors mixed with glossy or matte mediums, sand, and mica & often generate a lot of layers. Applying different textures makes my artworks more 3-dimensional, relief-like, unique, and more haptic and multi-sensual, changing with movement and light. My color palette is limited but refined, which allows the viewer to focus more on composition and textures. My paintings and multimedia have been presented at many exhibitions throughout the country and abroad. I am a laureate of the 2nd Triennale of Polish Contemporary Painting ‚Autumn Confrontations’ under the patronage of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
