Elizabeth creates semi abstract expressionist oil paintings which reflect the elemental tone of the natural world, consisting mostly of Seascape landscapes, combined with cloud formations. After training at the City Lit in Holborn, London in Fine Art (BA) she paints in oils focusing on Sea and Landscapes. Using carefree brushstrokes or the palette knife, Elizabeth's paintings are inspired by capturing clouds that hug you, rocks on a shore, or a crashing wave from a distant viewpoint or rolling towards a shoreline. Her work is richly textured, combined with smooth blended glazes of brushwork, to suggest depth and movement. Striving to allow the paint to 'have a mind of its own’ works well with her looser style, that the confines of realism can oppose, allowing her atmospheric and emotional pieces to come alive. Her paintings can vary specifically for commissioned works in large or small spaces and she invites enquiries. Elizabeth's work has been sold over the years both internationally and at home in Spain to clients, and collectors of her work, in addition to receiving many awards and accolades during her long career. One of the high points of Elizabeth's career was being commissioned for a number of her paintings, by the Board of The SHASHOUA Foundation, created by Roger Shashoua. Then followed an invitation to be part of their permanent exhibition last shown in Cork Street, London in late 2011. A significant private collection that continues to be exhibited globally. Sadly following the demise of the founder the exhibitions of his collection have now been cancelled. Elizabeth's work has been exhibited at the Chelsea Society of Art, Chelsea; The Gaf Gallery, Westbourne, Poole, Dorset; The Menier Gallery London SE1; Le Galleria Royal Opera Arcade, Pall Mall London SE1; The Brick Lane Gallery, Brick Lane, London E1; The Knapp Gallery, Regents Park London; The POSK Gallery, Hammersmith and may other Galleries in the UK and southern Spain.
