The notion of disappearance in public space: plastically translate this part of myself, involuntary witness of these disappearances: dazzling like the one at sea or slow like the one who abandons himself on a bench. The consciousness we have of the strained thread of our life, intertwines with the broken threads of those of others. He who fades is as much by himself as by me. My eyes slip, I pass, go forward so that my conscience does not imbue too much of this other which I do not know what to do. The canvas is mixed media: oil painting and collages. In the foreground we can see an anonymous crowd composed of silhouettes sketched, static and waiting. The subject of urban loneliness is here expressed by the man who sits on a bench in the center of the canvas; It does not seem to wait for anything so much its body is curved and without contact with its environment. This feeling of abandonment is accentuated by the vanishing point formed by the black silhouettes that go off to the left. The whole painting is treated in colored gray and in transparency; The colors of the city for those who are alone (?) The horizontal lines (the crowd, the buildings) are majority; An almost central yellow cross could be a lighthouse in the night, an evocation of hope, a salute?
