I have been compared to Van Gogh since childhood, perhaps because I often paint sunflowers. One of Van Gogh's most famous paintings is "The Starry Night" with which he created a revolution in painting. For the first time in history, he did not just paint a copy of the landscape as it is, but brought an artistic image. He did not draw as it is, but added content. My painting is an "easter egg" to Van Gogh's painting, only the Starry Night is crippled by rockets, and instead of a castle there is a monument to "Independence", which is located in Kyiv, and around it are Ukrainian houses. The only thing standing between the rockets and Ukraine is a big question mark, which is why the picture is called: "Will the sky be closed to us?" From the very beginning of the war, it became clear that they are not going to close the sky to us, but it is vitally necessary. Rockets kill people. The cheapest dome costs $50 million, our volunteer S. Prutyla collected 20 in 3 days. We will collect the required amount. Why don't they sell us the Iron Dome, planes? Why? Why allow this genocide? And this picture is based not only on the work of Van Gogh, but also on the work of the Ukrainian singer N. Mogilevska, who at the beginning of the war transformed her lullaby: "The Moon Walks in the Sky" into a military song. In my painting, Van Gogh's moon is shattered by a rocket. Like a baby's cradle broken by war. As a symbol of the fact that this war can destroy not only Ukraine, but also the entire planet. It must be stopped immediately!
