Winter's Promise Print

There's nothing surreal about this painting. It's just a boy on a snowy path in the woods, pausing for a bit as snow falls around him and sunlight is breaking through the trees. Yet there's still a magical, surreal feel to it - a moment in time captured where a small boy has wandered into the woods and has stopped for some reason before stepping into the light that shines down from above. There is a certain child-like wonder to it. I couldn't quite decide what to name this painting so I reached out to my followers and they responded. Some told me it seemed like a sign from above. Another said it offered hope that winter would soon be over. So I decided to call it Winter's Promise. Yes, winters can be long and we yearn for sunnier days. Yet there is beauty in winter. A falling snow. Icicles hanging from trees or roofs. Every season has its beauty. Winter's Promise to each one of us is to appreciate it, knowing that warmer days and new growth will soon be on its way.
