About The Artwork
This painting is one of the series called "Animaly", a series of paintings about unlucky accidents in Genetic engineering. These depictions are human chimeras, half human/ half-beasts . . . deformed, confused, unaware and displaced in time. The artwork was inspired by Margaret Atwood novel "Oryx and Crake". It is satirical and dark at the same time. I would love people to feel more aware of the duality in the new fast paced technologically enhanced world, its dangers behind the glossy outlook. The black acrylic medium was chosen to suggest the primitive character of these hybrid beings, angry at the world they are brought into.
