Inspiration The Komodo Dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is native to Rinca, Komodo, Flores, Padar and other Indonesian Islands. Varanus komodoensis is a lizard (reptile) member of the Varanidae family. They're also known as the Komodo monitor. It was painted as part of series "Circle of Animals" that had twelve portraits of animals - each representative of that year. Its created with high quality artist grade oil paints and sealed with varnish to maintain the luster and off-the-easel look. The edges are painted black in acrylic for the finished output. About the Artwork Painted on premier quality canvas that is first coated with gloss acrylic and then artist grade oil paints, the work is a humble attempt to exhibit the classic portrait technique. Painting is sealed with acrylic varnish and sides are painted black for a modern frameless display. It can stay unframed or can be framed if needed.
