About The Artwork

"You're Dead" is a mixed-media artwork with diverse mediums coming together on paper. The canvas features a delicate yet stark white lily as the focal point, a symbol of purity and transcendence. The elegant flower stands out against a layered backdrop. The lily itself is rendered in washed watercolor, that creates subtle gradients, capturing the translucent quality of the flower's petals. An unexpected and unsettling element - the text "you're dead," "stay dead," is written in oil pastel. The text is in strokes that are bold and jagged. They appear as if they were hastily etched onto the canvas, providing a stark contrast to the lily's fragile beauty. The interplay of these various mediums creates a dichotomy between beauty and darkness, life and death. The white lily, a traditional symbol of purity and renewal, becomes a vessel for the stark message in oil pastels. "You're Dead" is a visual exploration of duality, inviting viewers to contemplate the impermanence of life and the complexity of human emotions.

My creative process is a play of constant exploration and experimentation. I embrace the spontaneous, the uncertain, and the unexpected. Through diverse palette of techniques and mediums, I seek to convey the depth and richness of human experience. I weave together threads of nostalgia, contemporary influences, and personal narratives. My work is an invitation for the viewer to step into a world where time is suspended, emotions are vividly palpable, and complexities of existence are distilled into vivid, tangible forms. In my paintings I want to create a dialogue about our shared human experience. I invite the viewer on a journey of playful self-discovery and encourage to look at the world from a different perspective. I record events of my life and reflect on the world around me. I employ symbolism, text, and mark-making, creating a visually immersive and layered experience for the viewer. I blend a wide spectrum of materials, often commencing with watercolours and integrating ink, acrylics, and various drawing mediums. This creates a multitude of textures, colours, and effects. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of sources, my art becomes a dynamic intersection of the past and the present, the tangible and the intangible. Each stroke, each layer of paint, is an attempt to encapsulate the essence of a moment—to distill the emotions, the experiences, and the textures that make up our complex lives.
