About The Artwork

Your voice The idea for this picture came to me at a time when I heard an interesting idea that is often discussed among psychologists. It got me hooked. It sounds something like this: a lot of energy is invested in your shadow side, and if you know how to work with your shadow side, then you can gain access to a huge reserve of energy hidden you. Essentially, the shadow side is that energy, those traits in ourselves that we tend to put down for one or another reason. This may be due to society, prohibitions from elders, or our own fears. I got shocked after realising how much energy do you have to put down in order to conform to society’s ideas about you. How many things do we want to do, but are afraid of being judged? So all this energy doesn’t go anywhere, we always have access to it. It’s just that this side of us seems like a scary dark forest. In fact, we are afraid of our own shadow. This is not something immoral and does not harm others, then all our other traits are not as terrible as we think. And if you know how to listen and make friends with your shadow side, then you can become a more harmonious person. After all, life is all about balance. Where there is light, there is always shadow. And that's okay. Since this topic is very relevant to my life, I wanted to dedicate a painting to it. Here the snake is precisely the personification of this dark side. But look, is it really that scary? Could it hurt someone? But in fact, this is a small, non-venomous snake. And, if you look closely, you might even find it quite cute. It’s the same with the shadow side. For certain reasons it may seem scary to us. Like something which should not be shown to anyone wherever. But this is our side. And there’s nothing so scary about it. And if we learn to listen to ourselves and deal with our shadow without suppressing it. Then more facets will open up in our lives. More bright colors will appear. Signed certificate of Authenticity Contact for similar portraits

Feruza Turlybek - a self-taught artist. I was born and live in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. I am the type of person who needs to express themselves on a daily basis. Having tried myself in many areas, I realized that my favorite way to express my emotions and thoughts is painting, which I finally returned to in 2018. And I made the right choice, because the first sign I received was the purchase of my painting a month after I started painting. The second sign was the sale of my painting abroad. Now 58 of my portraits are in private collections in Kazakhstan and abroad. My most effective sales resources are my Instagram page and my shops in online galleries. I have studied two foreign languages in university, in 2016 I studied in Spain, Cadiz and at the moment I can speak 5 languages which makes it easier for me to communicate and effectively work with a large number of art lovers and artists all over the world. I find life itself inspiring, especially people and their emotions, therefore I like to paint portraits most of all. I see each person in certain colours, so I never limit my style to a certain colour palette. I always make the choice of the colour palette depending on the character and in the colors that I see in him/her and the story behind them. Ideas for paintings come to me every day. Every idea is something that has come to my mind many times, something that I've been thinking about lately, that I've liked lately and that I've found beautiful. I combine them all, and this is what gives rise to the plots of my paintings. In my work, I like to use acrylic and oil paints and also adore texture paste and gold leaf. Through my paintings I share my emotions, experiences and thoughts that I am experiencing at the moment. Through them, I want you to feel that you are not alone. Give you what you lack to move on, fill you with desire and energy. It is normal to experience different emotions throughout life, and even in the most negative ones, you can find something good for you, something that will benefit you, something that will become your tool for achieving your happiness.
