I always loved Zinnias and I grow them most years. I grew these ones. I like the way they have flowers inside the flowers and the variety of colors of them. I also made the pot. This painting is number 5 in my "All Things Bright and Beautiful" series.

Valerie was born in England and grew up in Nottingham, England. She has resided in the U.S. for the past 30 years, and is a mathematics teacher who loves art. Valerie spent a few years working part time as a potter at the local pottery. Here she worked on the wheel. Most of the pottery in her paintings is created by her. She has worked in many mediums and a few years ago discovered oils. She is now working on a series of still life called "All things bright and beautiful".
