Please allow me to briefly introduce myself. My name is Ria Kooistra and I have been organizing painting classes, workshops, family, company outings and painting holidays in France and Northern Macedonia, enjoying every second of it. I also give painting classes in Doetinchem, Antwerp and at a school for children with special needs. Creativity is a gift I was given at birth, which I cherish and relish passing on to others. Creating something new together, the personal contact, the stories, just disappearing for a while in the peace and silence of the painting. My work usually consists of colourful paintings, a mix between realistic and abstract work with mostly women as a theme are the most important characteristics of my work. Thickly applied layers of paint switched with almost scanty spots. The result usually alternates between the border of realism and figurative and often has a somewhat mystical aura about it. Occasionally I make an excursion to the abstract.
