Shakespeare said "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." So it is that the life of a teenager, such as the 13 year old that made this painting, can be represented by optimistic long afternoons and lonely weekends spent daydreaming about love and perfecting a craft. It's not a completely realistic representation, but its good enough to put a name to this time period in my life.

Initially studying electrical engineering, she trained as a theatre actress in London where she lived for the past two years and worked in theatre and film. Returning to Canada in March 2020, her inspiration comes from travelling, encountering fellow human beings, and exploring meditation and yoga. Amanda paints the inner landscape shaped by visual memories, intense emotions, and thoughts as fleeting as the wind. Her paintings are vibrantly colourful, pulsing with life and imagination.
