About The Artwork

ORIGINAL Artwork by Lidia Kuneca Title: Lego sea war Size, Medium: 100x70cm acrylic on cardboard Style: figurative, expressionism Description: The painting is about a sea war between logo people. It is tragic and funny. The story is about a mermaid who everyone wants to catch. They have found the mermaid and they fight because they don't agree who on should keep her. Lidia Kuneca is a contemporary painter. She showed a passion and a skill for painting in the expressionist manner from an early age through her childhood and adolescence. From the age of 11 she received an artistic education in her hometown Art highschool and later at the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca where she recieved a grant for 5 months at the University of Fine Arts in Cuenca, Spain. Lidia paints mostly from imagination or memory. Her work describes the inner voice of the subconscious mind, inspired by the beauty of imaginary things, the mystery of nature and social experiences. She has a positive and colorful vision. Lidia especially admires David Hockney, in elements such as his smooth flat and brilliant color. Marc Chagall for his quirky motifs, Olafur Eliasson for sculptures and large-scale installations that enhance the viewer's experience.
