About The Artwork

The size of the image is 60x38 inches, plus a border of 2 inches of white paper and 3 inches in the lower part. That allows you to use the white border to make an american case framing ! Other size, and custom size as well are available upon request. I took the picture in 2007 and I used a high ISO color negative film to get the real grain of the film. After I scanned the negative with a ultra high resolution scanner. That 's the mood I wanted to produce because at first moment I saw that tree alone in a trail , I tought it's Alice in wonderland tree !

"The Man Who Photographed Trees" (1) - After studies in Fine Art, 1972 graduate of the Institute of Graphic Arts of Montreal, Jean Tremblay used to be a founding member of Montreal City section of Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communication (CAPIC). His successful career as a corporate and advertising photographer is marked by numerous awards. Even more important is the gaze that he has developed and refined over time and the experience acquired, studying light, exploring textures until his works give birth to this indefinable quality of presence in the world. This expertise, he now applies it in addition to Art photography as his photographs of trees testify. A research on the image of trees, presented at more than 9 exhibitions, which he has been pursuing since 2002. -Movement and emotions are the centerpieces of his compositions. This is probably why they inhabit us at first sight. Some of us manage to grasp the soul of men and things. Jean Tremblay photographs it ! SERGE SIMARD, communications officer, City of Montreal -Jean Tremblay's photos are magnificent; of a very high graphic and linear quality, they approach what is most beautiful in drawing. And what a subtle light, in its twilight aspect... FRANCOISE LEGRIS, Art Historian, Art Critic, Curator (1) - A tribute to to Jean Giono, writer and Frédéric Bach, animation filmmaker ; ¨The Man Who Planted Trees¨ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Planted_Trees_(film)
