ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My original plans of what next to upload and how to present it is making way for changes in my life. An opportunity to relocate in Austin, closer to where our youngest grandchild is starting middle school after summer, has presented itself, so my wife and I, in our 70s, are packing and preparing to move. My choice then for today, is a photo I took one cold October evening from where we stayed last year (2023) in my wife's home state of Vermont. It'd been 5 years since we'd been able to return there, and the magic of the light across Lake Champlain had retained all its range of subtleties. Prints, framed and unframed, in a variety of substrates and sizes, from art paper to metal, are available. I'll try to do a mix of more of our trip's photos, with selected new paintings from 2023 and this year. Once our move is complete, I hope to unbox a few much older pieces 😊

082124 update - My earliest memories of making art were my early school years, 1st - 3rd grade, watching colors from crayons and watercolors dance with reflections from the light across rough bumpy paper 😊 I'm still working with that fascination, alternating between smooth and rough, lines and blocks of color. It's best to say, at nearly 74 years of age, I'm finally beginning to accept I don't like doing only fields of color, or line-work, or abstract or representational. So here at Saatchi Art, I present my smorgasbord of work in differing mediums or styles - but I do think what has always persisted is - my sense of awe with life - internal, external, and mingled.
