Beauté Aviaire: Original Crane (Edition of 15) Print

Beauté Aviaire This is the image that started the whole Beauté Aviaire fine art concept, before the decision was made to add the female form to the composite images. A series of conceptual fine art prints, exploring the feminine aesthetic quality of both avian plumage and the human female form. These composite images, where feather meet fashion, are constructed with the art of photographic capture, photographing models and birdlife on separate occasions and digitally manipulating the imagery in post production, to create a new piece of artwork in each instance. It has always interested me the way the fashion industry has associated a feminine or fashion aesthetic to both fur and feathers, here I have been able to explore this connection without any wildlife being manhandled, let alone harmed. None of the models taking part in this project, at any point wore any feathers or came into contact with any birdlife. And no birds of the avian kind donated any feathers for this project. *Print includes a 5cm white border for framing/matting/mounting
