About The Artwork
Bitter melons shot in the vegetable market in Bundi. Bitter melons are highly textured vegetable, extremely healthy despite their bitter taste. Known in asia for its cancer and diabetes fighting nutrients, the bitter melon is widely used in the cuisine of India and China, it originated in India but made its way to China in the14th century and has a slightly less textured exterior. Makes a very graphic and interesting subject for food photographs.

I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and travelled all over the world with my parents before settling in The UK for my education. I went to Sherborne School and Reading University before moving to London to be a photographic assistant to many different photographers including Anthony Blake and Spencer Rowell. Then I moved to Australia to further my career in photography that is now 35 years long as a commercial and art photographer in Sydney. I have had several exhibitions including Transformation 1992, Lifeforce 1996, Sahaja 2000, and have completed new spiritual works, The Chakras, 2014 that are shown here on Saatchi Art. I now also teach photography with Alfonso Photo tours in Sydney. I have two websites, Chrisljonesphoto.com for commercial and sahajaprints.com for prints.
