About The Artwork

Boxed, video Still Photography. Columbus artist Melissa Vogley Woods, created a miniature of the Wexner Center and performs foot fetish style videos on and around the iconic building by Architiect Peter Eiseman. A continuation of Monochrome and Polychrome Suite, a series of performative videos set in exhibition spaces that explore the influence of the body on space and institutions. Boxed inverts the scale of the iconic architecture of the Wexner Center in relation to the human body to shift the power of site. Taking inspiration from youtube foot fetish videos found freely on youtube, Vogley woods leverages this as a space for a discourse on the space between the performer and viewer, the exchanges that can occurs.
