This is By Yourself, from my Isolation series. Much of my wildlife and landscape photography work is environmental in nature. I tend to gravitate toward concepts of decay and conservation. Many pieces deal with the narratives of human progressive tendencies and its relationship to encroachment and resource destruction (i.e. destruction of time- as life can only exist as long as the supply of its resources and energy). Often, I also play with Western concepts of spatial ownership. I manipulate colors and compositions that gravitate toward pervasive moods and concepts- especially in regards to creating feelings of isolation, helplessness, or being overpowered by history and industry. Much of my outdoor work is from the Wilderness of the United States, particularly my current state of Georgia.
