About The Artwork
Photographing empty waves at dawn are always a draw to my soul. This sculptured wave was captured on on a windy morning in Pismo beach, California. On the central coast the offshore winds are called "Santa Lucia's" and tend to sweep the wave up the surface with a resulting texture and spray that gives it the "sculpted" effect. The muted sky tones and warm colors in the water lend this image to going well in spaces that lend themselves to quietness.
