In my art I create scenes and characters from dreams inspired by my past, upbringing and stories that my mother and grandmothers told me and that were fuel for my imagination, fears and hopes. I have chosen photography both film and digital combined with digital manipulation and editing as my main mediums. By creating complex images I am able to unleash my passion for storytelling and explore the dreams and landscapes that follow me since childhood. The surreal images that I create by using ethereal, whimsical and fairytale visuals are dark yet beautiful and full of hope. Each image tells a story, and each story is part of a larger narrative running constantly in my imagination. Those come from a curiosity of the unknown, and wonder of whom the characters in the art might become. I believe that one of the greatest gift an artis have is not only to show the viewers how I see the world but most importantly to channel and talk about fears, hopes and experiences we all have as humans. My art come from a place of personal exploration, yet the goal in creating those is to show other a part of themselves that they might not know, as art is a mirror for both the creator and the observer. The works from the „things that never where” series started as an exploration of self and the things that shaped me as an artist. I went along with the questions of self-identity and loneliness that we all have and feel. Its a journey through the fields of dreamlike scenes, filled with loneliness, faith and magic. A story about choosing to be alone, and then getting lost ... and just being alone. Its a story of finding a way back to your tribe and to your identity. These works are constructed before the camera or computer is ever used through research and series of concept sketches, and only when the artwork is designed and planned I will create it. Then I edit those picture to achieve painterly effect yet letting them remain fully photographic. My creations depict wild imagination filled with dream-like scenes with whimsical subjects. I want each story to bring light and hopes to the brooding melancholy we all have inside us.
