About The Artwork

I've been worked on the theme "Buddhist Zen" for a longtime. This photograph is the one of my work ont the "Zen" and the first work of the series titled as "Eulogy to fishers". It was made of three photographs. The first image is the shadow of ivy vines, which frames whole image. It symbolizes the window of mind to the Nirvana. The second image is the rising sun in the misty lake. The misty lake symbolizes the boundary between the Nirvana and our this world and the dim red sun is the guiding star lighting the way to the invisible Nirvana. The last image is the fisher on small fhishing boat on the misty lake. The fisher symbolizes the human who are persuing and seeking for the Nirvana on the boundary between the two worlds. Every each of us are the fishers who are persuing and seeking for his own Nirvana on the boundary between the real and the ideal for his own lifelong journey This was invited to the 3rd Korean International Photo Festival(KIPF2015) and I got the Grand Priz Awards with this and other two photographs....
