Childish spy, observer, reveler, predator, and prey. Extra Mee puts a new spin on the self-portrait by showing a few of the characters that make up the artist’s personality. The natural setting takes the foreground, forcing the hard brick of civilization into the background. In this natural dream space, the artist confronts herself. She begins as three observers: the hidden child in the bushes, the curious but shy observer to the right, and the more daring observer closer in. But the author is as much exhibitionist as voyeur: the playful jump, and the two aspects of flirtation in the center. The predator self in the center is just as aware of being watched (as suggested by the deliberate hair touching), as the seducee leaning against the tree, looking at the observer as if sharing instruction or seeking approval.

"Art is a medium that helps you notice what you have been programmed not to notice, see what you are programmed not to see. My work is about exploring different worlds, different sizes of life, and different levels of existence." Rachel Lincoln’s art has been featured on book and magazine covers, in trendy restaurants, on the Corcoran White Walls, in individual and group shows, and in private collections around the country. Rachel loves the impact of casting objects upon her works. When an object is thrown, it can seem like a playful toss, a careless discard, or a violent act of aggression. The world of difference in those actions is often found at the center of her work. Her growing repertoire of mixed media, collage, and assemblage art pieces vary from flat surfaced drawings, to smashed almonds and sliced strawberries, to wondrous and unsettling 3D worlds that require direct interaction with the art itself. She enjoys exploring different worlds, different sizes of life, and different levels of existence in her work. Those who see her art are often thrilled, shocked, and moved by its raw, uncensored presence in the moments of humanity.
