ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Fraumunster was built upon the remains of a former abbey for aristocratic women which was founded by Louis the German for his daughter Hildegard in 853. The church was built from the middle of the 9th century on the opposite side of the river to the Grossmünster. In 1960, during the reconstruction of the Church, the famous artist Marc Chagall was invited. By that time, he had already made beautiful stained glass Windows in the Jerusalem synagogue. He was 83 when he started working and donated 5 stained glass Windows to the Church. 7 years later, he made another stained glass window for the Gothic rose window. Since then, many people come here to see the stained glass Windows of Marc Chagall.

I am a freelance photographer based in Millheim, USA. My background began with drawing and illustration in graphics, which eventually led to graphic design. I believe this foundation significantly influences the way I compose my photographs. I often seek out graphic compositions with strong lines, large areas of dark shadows, contrast, and negative space. I also find myself drawn to capturing objects and nature in abstract forms, focusing on texture and detail. I bought my first professional camera out of admiration for sculpture. Over the years, as I experimented with colors, I discovered my passion for black-and-white photography. However, I haven't completely abandoned color; I still explore minimalism in my work. This practice encourages me to seek simplicity in my life and find balance, not just in my photography skills. Another aspect of my creative journey that often leaves me feeling unsettled is conceptual photography. I have just begun to explore this realm and am still discovering my voice. Regardless, I hope you enjoy visiting my page, even if you don’t make a purchase.
