About The Artwork
I am inspired to create these flower still lives by the classical dutch paintings of flowers and flowers in art. I enjoy creating compositions with flowers and colour, drawing attention to the design and shapes of the flowers. I think there is something people relate to in images of flowers as though they are part of us.They communicate to us in a variety of ways and have a story behind them. Many of the flowers in classical paintings were displayed in a room for observation to be painted or photographed. I feel I am seeking a variety of ways to express the language of flowers through a variety of mediums. Here, I have gathered and displayed these flowers in a vase and photographed them.I have then digitally enhanced them, The background decor is my own mural artwork that the flowers become blended with.
