About The Artwork

Aesthetically, I consider some of my photography and multimedia work, as an extension or continuation of the work of da Chirico. The "metaphysician's" middle world inhabited by mannequins, presences and archetypes. This particular work (and feeling) was produced with a classic camera, a Contax IIa (from the late 40's or early 50's) with an unusual lens attached to it, a Nikon 135 mm, working then the negatives to produce the old and scratched texture, then digitally processed to uncover a powerful presence. The work is printed on thick fine art paper (100% cotton. 210 gsm.). The texture and overall impression is slightly rough. The printed size is 17 x 11 1/4 inches (rounded by a millimeter or two). The paper size is 19 x 13 inches. It ships flat. Each of the limited edition prints is numbered and signed by hand by the artist.

Born in Monterrey, Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City when he was three years old. Belonging to a family of artists, received training in the fine arts from early childhood. First work on film and photography was done for his father (who made documentaries). Years later began accumulating negatives made during trips as a music performer.
