In Andrea Sbra Perego’s digital collages we still find the indissoluble link between man and the city, but the dimension of the two elements has been reversed and man now dominates the scene. With these works Perego expresses through the portraits all the force and energy of contemporary life. The creative impulse, he inherited from the Futurist tradition is transferred to the decomposition of the urban landscape; the city moves away and the lines are less defined, giving the impression that we are looking at a night view. All things approach, rise, interpenetrate in space, and the human figure is a passive witness to a changing reality that eludes the senses and feelings. Sounds mingle with colors, architectures merge with the landscape, surfaces overlap. In this sense, digital collages allow us to approach the inaccessible, to destroy in order to recreate, to disassemble and reassemble, and to build fantastic cities.
