About The Artwork

This photo is part of my Jardim da Estrela at Night Series. My models Peter and Nate had a wonderful and natural feeling in front of the camera and they gave this scene a timeless feel that sweeps the viewer into their mutual attraction. I wanted the voice and vibe of classic noir and a nod to Hemingway's novel in stories, In Our Time. These images are inspired by a photo I saw 15 years ago hanging at my friend's house. It was of a woman waiting at a train station, circa 1940's and the composition of the portrait was amazing. Unfortunately, I don't remember the signature and my friend gave the photo back to her ex-husband. But the impact of this photo lives on in my own imagination and these set of photographs. Each image is printed on Ilford by print artisan's here in Lisbon, Portugal. Hand signed. Also comes with an original artist card print.

Hi, and thanks so much for visiting my profile. I am photographer and writer and sometime painter and mixed-media artist. Primarily my works delves into how our unconscious selves project in our waking realities. Many of my projects deal with how we perceive light and shadows. There is such a great power using natural light in my photographs, so much depends on the season, weather, and time, which adds suspense to photography process. But all my work is about connection. Yes, I'm digging deep into my own psyche but I want the audience to feel a connection to the art. That my artistic expression enables them to connect with a part of themselves and our world. I love creating art about women (especially women over the age of 50), our natural world, and the evolution of how we live in the world.
