ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Famous Venice Beach in LA, California—a place where the vastness of the Pacific Ocean meets the lively pulse of the city. I captured this moment at the end of March 2023, on what was my very first visit to Los Angeles. It was also the first time I laid eyes on the Pacific, and the experience was nothing short of overwhelming. As I stood on the yellow-white sand, the ocean stretched endlessly before me, its horizon blending into the sky like a painting too grand for words. The rhythmic sound of the waves, endlessly rolling and retreating, filled the air with a sense of peace and timelessness. The lifeguard tower, a small white sentinel against the immensity of the ocean, stood quietly on the shore, like a silent witness to the dance of the sea and sky. Its simplicity contrasted beautifully with the grandeur of nature all around. I felt small in the best way possible, as if I was part of something far greater—a world that was alive, breathing, and infinite. This moment remains one of my most beautiful memories of Los Angeles, etched forever in my heart, a reminder of the magic and wonder that comes from encountering something entirely new and awe-inspiring.

Born in Kyiv in Ukraine at the time of the USSR. All my life I was busy with drawing, sculpting and painting. My first art teacher in Kyiv was my grandmother. At the age of 4 she taught me how to use oil paint and how to make seascapes. Later on I followed the art classes for children of the famous Ukrainian artist Tetiana Yablonska. And as a teenager I studied 4 years at art school n Kyiv. Last 27 years I live and work in the Netherlands. I love to make photographic works as well as painting of seascapes, landscapes and flowers. Last year I learned how to make digital art and I practice it from time to time, being inspired by sea, animals and the beautiful nature.
