Metropolis 2023 London City captured in a photo montage reminiscent of the 1927 science fiction film "Metropolis". A cityscape emerges from an elevated island, exuding grandeur and architectural brilliance. The monochromatic imagery lends a timeless quality, evoking the glamour and innovation of the early 20th century. The towering buildings, adorned with intricate details and soaring spires, symbolize the city's ambition and magnificence. Above, a vast canopy closes off the sky, casting an enchanting glow upon the scene. This closed sky creates an atmosphere of mystery and wonder, blending dreams and realities in an ethereal suspended reality. The montage encourages contemplation on the interplay between human ambition and urban development. The city's foundation, supported by pillars and beams, reflects the delicate balance between progress and stability. This black and white surreal photo montage of London City, inspired by "Metropolis," captures the essence of an era and sparks the imagination with a nostalgic yet futuristic vision. My artwork explores the cross-overs between photography, collage, digital art and cubist paintings as a way of capturing memories and imagination. The pictures are created using a pen and ink style digitally, based upon my own photographs, and are printed with high-definition inks on stretched canvas.

I help bring interest to interior spaces through creative and dramatic fine art pictures. I have been a creator all my life from a childhood with construction toys and later as a professional engineer. Having been gifted my first camera in 1969, I have maintained an interest in photography since then, studying the subject more seriously in recent years. I specialise in capturing ordinary subjects and making them extra ordinary using closeups, lighting, colour or editing to help create mood, inspiration, or interesting talking points. I have a passion for taking time to notice the natural beauty that surrounds us, from the depths of space to the small creatures sharing our lives. In my work I try to encourage the viewer to see the ‘everyday’ in a new light by emphasising the extraordinary nature of its complexity or including it an arrangement to suggest an idea or a concept.
