ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My current project is to move street photography from the intrusive and objectifying (think Bruce Gilden) to work that is abstracted and non-exploitative. I do this through a variety of modern, digital techniques. It is not a simple process. My goal here was to capture the movement towards and from the modern temple of art: New York's Metropolitan Museum with its neo-classical architectural references and the vibrant throng of people entering, leaving, lounging around it on a summer afternoon. I hope the viewer will come away with a sense of the vibrancy of human movement around the museum.
