About The Artwork

The portrait is part of the large photo project that I've photographed in Budapest State Circus during my art residence. I lived and photographed the show and performers each day. They were coming from different countries and different cultures such as: Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kirghistan and Hungary, and their unique faces and internal beauty impressed me and led me to make this simple, yet beautiful images of their faces in close up. This girl performs in an acrobat troupe from Mongolia. She posed for me without make-up and usual costume, the moment before the show, as I wanted to show her beauty and focus so important at every stage of her performance. Portraits were shot in 6x9 cm black&white negative with Linhof large format camera. Both series were exhibited in October 2023 at the Art Market Budapest in Hungary and in Belgrade in the gallery Viline Vode, at the jubilee - 30 years of the famous gallery Zvono in Belgrade, Serbia.
