About The Artwork
Directed by Alison Watson, who organized hair, make up, location and actors/models the day after Thanksgiving in Asheville, NC, it was only fitting we used the beautiful people and the wondrous left overs for a group portrait. This is the result. When I first saw it, I knew it reminded me of almost every family get together over the years and the Book by Lawrence Durrell, "My Family and Other Animals" was just the right title! I am sure you will "see" some similarities to your family get togethers- in the best and worst of times!

I was born and grew up in New York City, 5 blocks from the Met. As a child, I got drug into that vast art vault weekly. What a pain to be 6 years old and force marched through the 40 foot high Renaissance painting room. And why were all the ladies naked? Where are the dinosaurs like they have at the Museum of Natural History or those great Teddy Roosevelt-supplied dioramas of African lions? I've worked passionately as a commercial photographer and am now a fine art photographer. I am still working as a dramatic Portrait Photographer on the Upper West Side of NYC.
