ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A human being can harm nature very easily by their actions, sometimes meaning no harm. It will be the consequences of such actions, though, that will always prevail on the scales of the future. The story of this photo, made in a nature reserve in the Netherlands in 2010, has a somewhat criminal element to it. While traveling by bike, I came across the reserve by following a small path, which was not an official entrance. I did not pay a few euros as an entry fee, and did not know that riding a bike in the reserve was strictly prohibited (only walking was allowed). Perhaps for the first time in their lives, the deer saw a man on an old red bicycle that once belonged to the Dutch fire service. It looks like the animals were scared. A little later I was detained by the reserve guards … P.S. The caption goes with the photo, and may be printed by the buyer.
