About The Artwork

20 years after the completion of my Passengers black & white series, I decided to begin photographing seated NYC subway riders once again while in transit, this time in color. The result is a series of contemporary portraits of urban individuals each extracted from their surroundings and then anonymously placed within a collective and uniform arrangement.
