Pecking Order is a selection from a larger body of work titled, "Tiny Situations", exploring how people behave in larger societal groups. Can struggling to control our animal instincts make us more humane? Works within the series are constructed at a 1:12 scale and then photographed using a variety of techniques. Women in the workplace could easily lift one another becoming the greatest of allies and yet there is often so much animosity amongst us that we are sometimes compared to hens in a barnyard mercilessly pecking away at one another. Is it being the best and the neverending grind that makes us most productive? It's no coincidence that the birds are trapped in a cubicle. Not one of them will survive long enough for that corner office but instead will have only pecked its way to the top tier of middle management.
