ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Lensball photography is the act of taking a photograph through a glass ball also called a lensball. The name is a good description because it acts as an external lens optic. The ball uses refraction to bend the light as it passes through the glass, which is of denser mass than air. This bascule bridge is near the mouth of the Black River and was used by the C&O and predecessor lines to travel from downtown north towards the thumb area. The original bridge was built in 1859 and then rebuilt by the PM in 1913. The bridge still stands in the upright position though it is no longer connected by rail.

Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Robert Hover, and I am a photographer, videographer, and creator. I am a 59-year-old leukemia survivor who drove trucks for 15 years, but after being diagnosed with leukemia and having a bone marrow transplant, I started pursuing my creative passion of photography.
