The twilight of the year that occurs between autumn's fall and winter brings the end of growth, darker nights, and a wish to be at home by the warmth. This image conveys that need to be in, be warm and be by those you care for. This image is part of a project I am undertaking to capture the essence of the seasons using a Petzval lens. The main aim is that the image should evoke a feeling of the season without relying on a dependency of sharpness, relying more on the natural image dynamics available from a lens that delivers a shallow depth of field, melting bokeh, and a glow to prominently illuminated elements. I'm offering this in two editions; a signed limited edition print of 10, and regular issued prints. There are 7 of the limited edition available at this time Nrs. 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9 and 10 of 10. The limited edition print is produced using cotton rag archival paper. It is supplied unmounted. The Image size is 11" x 17" with an additional border at the bottom to accommodate the signature and details. The unlimited prints are offered in larger sizes.

Back in the 1980s I was a professional photographer, specialising in editorial, fashion and advertising, working mainly in medium and large format. During this period I contributed to leading publications and worked for a number of blue chip clients. Alas, the working briefs prescribed by the commercial world was far far away from the work I wanted to produce. This being so, I left photography behind me, not touching a camera for decades, and drifted into writing. Now, decades later a relatives request and writing has brought me back into the realm of creating photos - to a place where I would have been happier back in the day, able to pursue subjects that I like in a way that I like. …and hopefully in a manner that I hope that you like as well.
