About The Artwork

The white houses of Santorini are known worldwide. Every day they are viewed, photographed and admired by thousands of people. None of the tourists wonder what is going on inside. We view it superficially, as we nowadays view many things superficially. But inside, behind those walls, there are secrets. A secret lover? An unspoken desire? Secrets, as we all have, behind our wall of superficiality. The photo is one of the 5 from the serie Santorini white's. This work is a high quality print on photographic paper on aluminium dibond. This museum quality technique ensures long lasting quality and extremely high image brilliance. It comes with a hanging kit and a manual that enables perfect vertical and floating wall mount so the image seems to float a view inches in front of the wall. It is hand signed on the back and will be delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

As an artist I create art that shows a reflection of the beauty of imperfection in nature. I like to show people that perfection does not exist and want to show them how beautiful imperfection and ephemerality is. I also work hard on making objects from clay which represent my feelings about tragedies. With this art I hope to touch other people so they will think and act. I try to travel a lot and it is on those travels I can be touched by this imperfect nature, objects, people, houses etc.I start with making photo’s. Back in my studio these pictures become a poem and/or a painting and/or an object with clay. All as les complex as the clay makes it possible.
