About The Artwork

"On a day that didn't seem to be worth living, the encounter with this cherry tree in bloom filled my senses with sudden and unexpected beauty. It was shaking as though it did not want to be photographed, as if that feeling was meant to be ephemeral and not to be preserved and I've even blamed the wind for a while. I've photographed it anyway. I visited that tree many times after that, taking pictures both during the day and night time, yet no other photographs carry the same feeling I can see in the ones that I shot the first time." -Monomono Limited edition of 50 Size 304.8 x 406.4mm (12" x 16") Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 g/m² velvety smooth archival paper Each edition is signed and numbered by the artist

I'm a photographer currently based in London. I take photographs out of an illusive desire of making mine the beauty of the emotions that I experience, to preserve them and to be able to experience them again. Avoiding searching for technical perfection allows me to drag the attention from the camera and to just focus on the moment, keeping my senses receptive and recording an image exactly when I feel it. I believe that the emotion associated with a photograph is what gives value to it. Different viewers will have different emotions, based on their memories and experiences and, even thought it might seem illusive, my wish is that their emotions will be as close as possible to mine.
