From the series ‘SKIN’ this close-up elevation is a record of the external surface of a military aircraft. Its violent encounters with the environment are etched into its surface. In this case the ice cold wind chill at 50,000 feet and nearly 2,000km/hr. These brutal conditions counterpoint the violent reason for this crafts existence. I have a day job - I am a psychotherapist. I work with people as they negotiate their relationship with that thing that is outside of them - their world. In these images of aircraft I want us to get close to both their form or identity, and etched into their surface their record of that same thing - their relationship with their environment, their outside. This is currently an open edition. At a later stage I may be releasing some super high resolution versions in limited editions.
