ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I was fascinated by the beautiful shapes that the wind manages to blow into the snow, and I tried to capture this. I hope the photo is a resting point on the wall. The image does not attract much attention, but it is present. In combination with the ivory-colored passe-partout and the black frame, the image comes into its own. The photograph is print on Hahnemuhle Museum Etching 350 grms/ m2 (10,76 square feet) paper . It is framed in a black wooden frame with anti-reflective plastic 'glass', called Acrylite. This material weigths half as much as glass, is 99.7% UV-resistant and 11 times more wrinkle-resistant than real glass.

I was born in Amsterdam and now live in Wijk en Aalburg (Brabant). Photography was not initially what attracted me when I had to choose a profession. The choice became "to do something" with nature. Ultimately, it became its own landscaping company. My heart was, and still lies, with nature. In 2013, I decided that I wanted to take my photography to the next level and also take it commercially. I then followed a training at the School Voor Fotografie [School For Photography] in Breda (NL). Since then I have been doing photography alongside my paid job and working as a freelance photographer. I have taken a number of workshops - portrait photography, macro photography and documentary photography, and I still take occasional workshops and courses over the internet. Nowadays I prefer to work in documentary series. I am not the kind of photographer who always carries his device in his pocket to capture that special moment. I come up with a subject, make a plan and then take the photos. The preparation takes a lot of time and then the post-processing.
