About The Artwork

“Solitary Moment” is an arrangement of scanned individual flowers and vase using a desktop scanner and arranged digitally within. The relatively shallow space is suggestive of icons or bas relief. An inherent beauty of flowers, is augmented by the bright pop of Contemporary color and sometimes accompanied by other props that enhance the scene.

Patrick Beilman has been making art for most of his life. Growing up in Aurora, Colorado, he moved to Chicago for several years, then onto Milwaukee, Early in his art career Patrick became involved with color xerox and Mail Art, specifically Artist Stamps, corresponding with many “mail” artists throughout the world. His Artist Books and Stamp sheets are in numerous private and Museum collections. The work you see on his Saatchi Art web site began in 2008 and continue to the present. He was inspired to use a desktop scanner, for importing actual flower and vases Using digital software, he creates floral bouquet’s and flower compositions. The resulting close focus and shallow depth of field is emblematic of the work and reminiscent of bas relief and icons. This work suggests an homage to still life artists of various styles and eras. The prints have been shown in various galleries and are featured on the web site, Scannography.com. Patrick now resides outside of Milwaukee, in a more country setting. He is very inspired by nature, and his recent subject matter reflects that. Please look through all the work Patrick has available for your space/collection. “The life of an artist is a great way to travel” Patrick Beilman
