This photograph is an exploration of society’s conception of the ideal bodily form, the aesthetic of body hair, and the contextualisation of bodily gestures that are displayed in the shower. In the context of a shower, such gestures can be meaningless, however, when reenacted identically in real-life situations, these poses are used to express explicit emotions. The Shower could be a microcosm of the human experience, and the act of showering a dance, a lament, a serenade, or a soliloquy. Is he in a state of depression, or is there shampoo in his eye? One thing is for certain, a shower is always honest. This LIMITED EDITION 18”x12” print will be printed professionally on matt 249 gsm FUJICOLOR CRYSTAL ARCHIVE PAPER TYPE II, a silver halide colour paper. The photograph will be signed and numbered on the back, and will be accompanied by a small certificate of authenticity.
