The second image in my Transformation series, Tantra, represents the expansion of consciousness.Tantra is the combination of two abreviated words tan and tra...and is meant to describe the aspirant's journey through their dark shadow side (the figure is still dark but is surrounded by a pool of transformational light, a mataphor for conciousness expansion). The mist rising from the water and the bright back light along with the movement of the figure itself add to the feeling of imminent change. It was a chance shot grabbed whilst driving through the Royal National Park early one cold winter morning.

I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and travelled all over the world with my parents before settling in The UK for my education. I went to Sherborne School and Reading University before moving to London to be a photographic assistant to many different photographers including Anthony Blake and Spencer Rowell. Then I moved to Australia to further my career in photography that is now 35 years long as a commercial and art photographer in Sydney. I have had several exhibitions including Transformation 1992, Lifeforce 1996, Sahaja 2000, and have completed new spiritual works, The Chakras, 2014 that are shown here on Saatchi Art. I now also teach photography with Alfonso Photo tours in Sydney. I have two websites, Chrisljonesphoto.com for commercial and sahajaprints.com for prints.
