Yaska was born in 1968 in Paris, son of French ex-patriots originally from Ariege in the region of Oust. He discovered equatorial Africa at the age of 4 and West Africa a few years later.During his 19 year stay in Africa he learned several traditional techniques from local artisans in Gabon, Cameroon and later in Senegal and Nigeria (melting, sand moulding and lost wax). He often uses materials such as clay, wood, metal, concrete and stone in his models and sculptures. Sculpture in Ngounié where was discovered the stone of Mbigou whose name means: Agreement in Nzebi language in Gabon; Sculpture on wood in the village of Ngaparou in Senegal; Sculpture on wood in the artisanal village of Soumbédioune in the suburbs of Dakar in Senegal Forge Touareg et travail du cuir à Niamey, Zinder & Agadez au Niger. Sculpture sur bois durs tel qu' Ebenne, Azobé & Okoumé à Tchang, Ebolowa & Douala au Cameroun.
