ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is part of a photo series (‘The way of the poppies’) of finding nature in the outskirts of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. In the early summer poppies grow in in the wild and can be found everywhere. Poppies symbolize comfort, but this plant has two different sides and is a treacherous plant. With their bright red color the poppies look beautiful and attractive, but what many people do not know is that all parts of the poppy are poisonous to humans and animals.
