About The Artwork
In this project I wanted to use photography as a means of establishing emotional connections with each person I photographed. I asked my subjects to sit on a chair in a black booth, that I created for this project, to close their eyes and to think about the first thing that comes into their mind. A thought that would better express their emotional state of that moment. Afterwards I asked them to write their thought on a piece of paper. The thoughts of the subjects represent the main focus of the portraits, therefore the resulting photographs reveal the emotional states and personal issues that were occupying the minds of those portrayed.
